I was messing around tonight on my computer and on the net, looking for a source for the OT .wmv video of an engine I had saved saved in 2 thousand 10.
youtube had it.
Along with that video came the suggestion of this one as my next possible suggestion, posted last year on youtube.
1751 machine that made everything. Note: Nearly 15 minutes long.
Tear it apart as we see fit but the lathe was it. :)

My machine shop teacher always said that the lathe was the mother of ALL machines.

When I was going thru my apprenticeship program and college machine tool tech program, I was taught that other than castings, the lathe is the only machine that can reproduce all of it's parts.
