Post by J Sundstrom » Sun Jan 26, 2020 1:08 pm

Saw this listing on Craigslist and looks brass era T to me.
I have nothing to do with this listing but thought to make mention of it. It may be a good purchase or not so if looking for brass era part.??

Yep on the T era but nope on the T...E&J furnished brass lamps for the early T s but they were 2 tier chimneys. The lamp in the 1 picture would be correct for an 09-10 EMF.
I don’t know why I turned out this way. My parents were decent people.

Three tier E&J side lamps appear in numerous early T photos of new cars like this one. Two tier E&J's are also seen in early photos that appear to show new T automobiles. As far as I have been able to research, surviving documentation does not support that Ford had any specific oil lamp sourcing strategy until late in the 1909 Model Year.

Scott

I'm not at all literate computer talk so I may be way out with this, but I 'd like to know if the title of this thread is accurate. I do know that trolls are undesirable, so perhaps there is a typo and the post should read "Trawling Craigslist". Help me undrstand.

Allan from down under.

Hi Allan, In this case I use trolling to mean like trolling for northern (fish) on my lake. Not the sneaky little Guy under a bridge. Trawler would work if you use a bigger boat.
I think many search Craigslist same way (not sure what you have down under) do a search for Model T parts, etc by region and see what comes up. John

You can change the title, but that might leave people scratching their heads trying to figure out the above comments! Maybe something this: "Whilst perusing the Craig's list Ads, I stumbled across this lamp"
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!
