Re: 1915 runabout for sale
Hi Scott, The car looks nice, but I have a few suggestions / questions that others may ask also. Could you please post pictures of both sides of the engine? In your description above, you mention "coilbox". The pictures show the coilbox, but what was done to it, and do you have the cover for it? One more thing, do you have a current title for it, and does the number on the title match the engine?
Thanks, Keith
Thanks, Keith

Re: 1915 runabout for sale
Isn't this car a late 1914 model? Could that explain the 1915 style firewall? Looks like a nice car.

Re: 1915 runabout for sale
I agree, it is either a late 14 or early 15. The serial number is 542245 which puts it in early July 1914. The cowl/tail lights are also 15 style along with the cowl itself. The fenders and headlights are 14.

The front fenders are 1915 , the rear are 1914.

Re: 1915 runabout for sale
Yeah my mistake, the "bill" in the front is on 1915 fenders. But interestingly the last of the 1914's and early 15's (which this car is) had the bill as well. There is a photo on page 180.

What is the date on the block? Is it 7/3/14 or 7/31/14? I can't tell from the pic. How many cars did Ford produce on a daily basis?

Re: 1915 runabout for sale
Doug...the engine number would, or should, make it 7/3/14, pretty early in the day, and that day 685 were produced.
Seems to be quite a range according to the 'pedia, from a low of 335 to a high of 740, but most days that month were in the 550-high 600's.

Re: 1915 runabout for sale
Would look great in my barn next to the 15 touring and 22 coupe. Doesn't anybody want an XKE or 30 A so I can add this to my stash.
all I can say is looks like a nice car and very reasonable price.

It looks like it has been dropped a little with 1926-'27 spindles and low-profile springs.

Re: 1915 runabout for sale
Yes, but I think the late '14 billed fenders still had 4 heads instead of 1915's 3.ScottPrindle wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 12:55 pmYeah my mistake, the "bill" in the front is on 1915 fenders.
