I’m looking for a reliable 1919 through 1922 Model T touring car. It must have it’s original engine, a starter, de-mountable wheels and side lamps. I know the later T’s didn’t come with lamps, and the early ones didn’t come with starters or de-mountables, but they were options and some guys added what’s needed. I’m not looking to do a full restoration: running and original or decent looking car is good. Please contact me at 586-651-5760.

Bill, the starter equipped cars generally did not have side lamps. That does not mean that they cannot be fitted, but to do so would require a different windscreen mounting, as the lamp brackets were integral to the screen mounts.

Or, he could get lucky and find an original non-starter '19, as that was still an option then, that had a starter hogshead put on. That way it would still have the correct windshield/sidelamp mounting. My '20 Runabout was that way, when the engine was rebuilt I do believe they added a starter hogshead, as open car starters were still optional in '20.

Tim, the starter style hogsheads were also fitted to the TT's which had no starter fitted. This continued for some time, allowing truck drivers to buy a TT at a discount. The transmission in my 1917 shooting brake came form such an engine, complete with virgin ring gear on the flywheel.

The price may be a little steep, but I think some think they can sell their Model T then retire. In my opinion, that is worth absolutely nothing, I see cars on here with the asking price more than I think the market value is, but that's just me...

29k ???!!!! The guy is asking $29,000. I know you can list your car for whatever you like, but seriously; even if the car was a Stynoski winner three years in a row it wouldn’t command that kind of money! I suppose my 1910 touring is worth $80k?

It does feature a candle light. How many T sellers can say that?

I saw that one; it’s listed as a 1920, but it has a one man top and a slant back windshield like the 1923 T’s.

Bill that just reminded me of an evening when the wife and I left a local mom & pop restaurant for supper, this cutest little old black guy came by and marveled over the car. He said "Man that must be worth at least 85 THOUSAND!! I laughed and said, nooo, only 80!! Then I told him the truth. He was so cool. He really loved Clara. Told him she wasn't for sale at any price as I love her too! All part of what makes this hobby so much fun, just showing her off.

Might be interested if the gal on the running board came with it! And yeh I don't like the looks of it with that one man top. I'm old fashioned, I like the looks of the 2-man with all those cussed irons in the way!
