Shortened driveshaft , driveshaft tube, and rear radius rods

Post by ModelTWoods » Mon Jan 27, 2020 10:56 pm

WTB: Anyone have a 12" shortened driveshaft and driveshaft tube suitable for installing a Warford in a late T (27). I think 12" shorter is what is needed. Could ude a pair of shortened rear radius rods for a 26-27, also. Alternatively, I'll have to have mine shortened.

I have a shortened drive, tube and radius rods. I will check the length. Is this for an aluminum Warford or a cast iron one with the front u-joint?

Terry- the drive shaft looks to be shortened 16½", so it won't work for your Warford. Too bad- it has radius rods as well. Perhaps someone else can use it. Dan

Dan would the shortened drive shaft you have work on a Chicago transmission?

Tim

Tim- no, a Chicago is about the same length as an aluminum Warford. I can measure a Chicago and report back.

Birdhaven bought the Texas T Parts business and is a dealer for the Layne K.C. Warford. They sell new driveshafts which are 12" shorter and offer the service of shortening the driveshaft housing for their transmission purchasers. You could check with them.

There's a machine shop down here in Texas close enough to me to avoid shipping costs, but I was just hoping someone had what I needed, extra to their needs and cheaper than the machine shop.
