WTB '25 pick up fender mounts
I am in need of two '25 pickup rear fender mounting irons. Or one in good enough shape to use for a pattern to make them. Thanks, Darryl

Re: WTB '25 pick up fender mounts
Original '25 p/u box fender irons have a gradual taper where they thread into the receptacle that is riveted to the side of the box unlike the touring which are straight. I've owned originals.

You can make some with a lathe and mill as someone did a few in the 70's.

Charlie - the P/U irons are straight thread BUT right where it goes into the bracket, they have a distinguishable taper out about an inch then the round iron begins.

Re: WTB '25 pick up fender mounts
Visually they both seem to be the same, without removing the fender to check the threads.

Re: WTB '25 pick up fender mounts
I think what is being said is that the threads are the same, touring or pickup, but the pickup iron has a taper before the treads instead of the abrupt diameter change the touring iron has. Anyway, does anyone have one or a good drawing of one so I can make a pair?

Re: WTB '25 pick up fender mounts
Yes,that is the one. They do repro them but price is high. I just made a pair to replace a home made set on a 25 pickup. I have on that I did not thread correctly that I can send If you pay the shipping.

Re: WTB '25 pick up fender mounts
I can say that the fender brackets in the first photo are from original beds as one was on the pickup bed when I got it and the other came off another pickup bed, both were the same. They both appear identical to the stock '23-24 Touring, not sure what the purpose of the gradual taper would be as shown in the reproduction by Darryl. Can you tell us Darryl?

Re: WTB '25 pick up fender mounts
After looking at the photos in Bruce's book that begin on page 371, the fender iron looks tapered like the photo of the reproduction fender iron I posted. I have not been able to find them listed in any of the Ford parts books from '25 or '26. So back to my original listing,,,,,,, Does any one have any they are willing to part with ?

Re: WTB '25 pick up fender mounts
The p/u fender irons are indeed tapered. I loaned an original to Gator Gould many years ago, and I think he reproduced them. I've owned two original '25 pickups, and they both have the tapered irons.
