Does anyone have one of these older water pumps available for "give" or for sale? Mine literally broke in half. I replaced it with a more modern one that I bought from Lang's, but the car has occasionally overheated since I installed the new one. It NEVER did with the old one.

The new water pump I installed also required that I remove my horn and horn bracket which was a bummer.

There are several of these on Ebay from time to time. Go to Ford model T parts and search "water pump".

If your car occasionally overheated with a new waterpump, it might be an indication you don’t need one. A waterpump when added to a good radiator may actually cause over heating because it forces water thru the core and back into the block before it is completely cooled. Your old waterpump may not have moved as much water as the new one. You may want to experiment with no waterpump at all for a while.

I have a similar one - email me if interested. The shaft fits tight through the housing - Needs packing on the pulley end and a gasket under the impeller inspection plate. Painting at your option.

Thank you.....I considered that. Its worth a try! I have the old round tube radiator. I just used a "de-ruster" compound in the radiator. Will see what that does. Interestingly, I overheated on a steep grade coming home yesterday while the de-ruster compound was in the radiator. Flushed it several times when I got home and quite a bit of rust came out. So far no leaks, thank God.

Ran across an issue a couple years ago in a Model A with a new radiator and a high volume water pump. It would overheat around 40 mph & higher. A flow restrictor was installed in the upper hose. I think it was a washer with a 3/4” hole and the problem disappeared.

And if the upper tank baffle breaks loose, here comes restriction too.
