Stromberg Throttle and Choke shaft kits For Sale - Sold Out
I ran a batch of Stromberg OF throttle shafts and choke shafts and springs recently. I have more than I need at the moment, so am offering two each.
Throttle shafts come with two new screws
Choke shafts come with two new screws and a new return spring
To the extent that I could, these are exact reproductions. They are not oversize in diameter, so your carb should be rebushed and line-reamed or lapped, to take best advantage of them.
I don't expect much demand, and will only make them when I need them (which won't be for a long time, I don't think), so these are it for now.
Email me, please, if you think you're interested

Scott - different application BUT what size are those screws ? I'm restoring an "era" bevel glass side view mirror which the outer bezel (2 pc.) is attached with very small screws.

One of each left.
I'm not making more until I need more. If you have a project on the shelf, these won't be around when you get to it.

Re: Stromberg Throttle and Choke shaft kits For Sale
I plumb missed this the first goround Scott.
Nice work.
In roughly 1000 stromberg OFs, not counting a few NOS ones, I probably haven't seen 50 that the throttle shafts isn't worn and is reusable as is. The design of the economizer put pressure on the side of the shaft every time the throttle opens and closes and wears both the shaft and the bore - which on the later OFs had a bushing installed at the factory so the shaft wears instead of the bore.
I've seen a couple of them with over an eighth of an inch of slack and quite a few that a 5/16 OD bushing would not fill.
Then people wonder why they won't idle.
What I really wish you would make are the throttle arms. I've had a couple hundred laser cut over the years and have jigs made to form them but the shelf is pretty empty of them as well as the choke parts and economizer arms.
Not enough hours in the day to do it all and the guy who made them for me last time died so I'm about out.
They are a PIA to bend and form anyway.
Off to the shop, it's already 8:30 AM and I have a guy yelling at me because I don't have his carburetor in the mail.
He was sleeping when I was out to there at 11 last night finishing another one.
Nice work.

Stan
You're welcome. After setting up the dies, I thought "what the heck" and made a small handful which was more that I'll use for quite a while. Figured you might use these up pretty quickly or at least quicker than me!

All gone - thank you everyone
Hank...thanks...they're no GEMSA heads or super-dooper fabrication like your stuff, that's for sure, but these things are fun never the less.
