Post by Sean B » Fri May 29, 2020 11:41 pm

I’m looking for a decent complete chassis with engine/trans for a project.
I’m in Orlando Florida, hoping to find something in Florida.

It will be for a speedster project. Prefer 26/27.
As far as price range. It really depends on overall condition.

Have a complete rebuilt 1916 chassis with a 26/27 engine Dunn weighted crank, SS valves, Z head, distributor, small drum RMB’s, re-spoked 30 X 3 1/2” demountable wheels with new tires, brand new brass radiator. TN title for a 1916 in our name. Can swap out the radiator with a new high radiator and change the hubs to wire wheels with adapters. Also can supply rebuilt painted wire wheels in either yellow with good used tires or bright red with no tires. $8,000.00.

All the Best,

Hank

Hank thank you, but yes this is more than I’m looking for.

Sean, you may think twice of the offer made by Hank, for the price it is a real bargain... I'm actually building a speedster and it cost me more of that so far.

My 2 cents
Super Mario Bross ;)

1914 Speedster

Oh I believe it’s a good price. Just not the level I’m looking to get in at.

Scraping bottom can work, but I'm not sure it is endearing. I think it is time for buyers to appreciate the fair value of what they are looking for. I feel that it is an insult to the seller for the buyer to outright reject the offer without at least acknowledging what was done. I'm waiting for the request in the classifieds with the buyer wanting a car done beautifully for $1.00.

My take is that Sean is being polite. He just doesn't have $8000 or cannot see spending that much at this time, so has to turn it down. Knowing it came from Hank tells me it is a good bargain.

I am not offended in anyway, just through it out there as a package deal. Everyone has their priorities, their money, and our hobby can get out of control. Ask me how I know! Thank You to All for such kind respect.

All the Very Best to All,

Humbled Hank

Have you looked at the Vehicles For Sale listings and seen the "1926 Fun Wagon" ad? It's a complete, driveable '26 '27 chassis/engine with an open express type body. Price looks reasonable, location is Illnois.

I have a 26-27 rolling chassis with engine that turns over and feels like it has compression, wire wheels, and hubs.
