WTB wood wheels for 1924

Post by Mr man » Tue Jun 02, 2020 10:47 am

i'm in Vegas and the wheels on my 24 touring have all shrunk up and are pretty loose. i need 2 front and 2 rear wheels, or just the spokes?

i don't want to buy new, because there really expensive, but i will if i need to.

thanks in advance,
Carson combs

Carson, would help to post pictures of your wheels so others can see what you have - non de-mountable or de-mountable. Also if they are de-moutable, a closeup of the area where the wheel lugs are to see if the felloe is correct for the rim.

Looking at the picture below the gap between the felloe and rim may be more than it should be. Could be a mismatch of one manufactures felloe with another's rim. I hope some others weigh in on this. May be able to tell just by removing the lug to see both the rim fellow areas. Also what is the name on the lug, it also looks wallowed out - could be a cause as well.

Carson,

Push come to shove I have a complete set with new spokes (Natural stained and varnished), galvanized demountable Hayes rims, 4 brand new tires/flats/tubes installed (No cracks, Good Ones), new wheel bearings, the spare is a used tire but serviceable. Email or have your Mom text me.

Talked to our young member Carson today on speaker phone, it is not his spokes, but contact from his carriage bolts/brake drum mounts to perch nut. Got him in the right direction folks!

All the Best,

Hank
