Your post is fine, it's just that original, correct size metal stems are getting hard to find, especially as a set of five. Most of the folks who run them
on their cars have had to build up a set piecemeal over time. The valve stem caps and dust covers are reasonably available, but the metal stems and correct bridge washers can be a real challenge. Go to swap meets once they resume and be prepared to dig through boxes and coffee cans of random valve parts. The correct parts sometimes show up on ebay, but usually as a few nuggets in an otherwise useless collection of random other parts.
Seems odd considering the number of Model Ts and associated tubes that were made over the years, but that's the way it is these days. Be patient and persistent and you too will eventually be able to build up a set of five for your car.

John, since you have one torn rubber stem tube that you are trying to salvage, I dug through my batch of stem parts and found enough to make one full Schrader 777 stem set. Not NOS quality, but serviceable. I also have one bridge washer nut and four dust covers that are surplus to my needs. See the attached picture. The price for all is $25.00 including USPS Priority shipping.
The covers will need to be cleaned, polished and nickel plated (Caswell makes a nice hobby size nickel plating kit). Note that one of the covers is shorter than the others, it fits a Schrader 888 stem. Since Larry Smith prefers to use 888 stems because they are shorter and lighter, perhaps he will trade you a 777 dust cover for the 888 cover.

Yes, it is a Schrader 888 stem (same diameter and thread as a 777, but a bit shorter). A 777 rim nut and dust cover will fit and it will look identical to a 777 until the dust cover is removed.

I bought some Hartford 30 X 3 tubes with metal stems.
They look thick enough to run a short distance with no tire.
The brass filler cap is slightly smaller and has a special end to remove the valve.
They were also Made in China. Has anyone tried these?
Covid-19 has kept my T in the garage, and I am waiting for two 30 X 3 Riverside tires to go with them.
