Picked up a 28 chevy head and need an adapter plate. I haven't had any luck contacting Gene so I figured I'd post here in the hopes he or someone else with adapter sees it.

Gene is usually pretty quick with replies. He posted in the classifieds in the last week for doing babbitting. Or are you saying you contacted him and he does not have any for sale at this time?

If required and only if the deal with Gene does not go thru, have a variety of three to choose from. Not hogging Gene in anyway.

Thanks guys, and thanks gene. I hope to hear from scott. If not Henry I'll have to inquire with you. What compressions do you have?

I have a 7 to 1 and I believe a 6.5 to 1, but give me a few days and I will check.

Matt:
it has been several years since i calculated the mechanical compression ratio of the adapter plate Scott machined ... seems to have been 5.7:1 as supplied ... this design can be machined on the cylinder head side 3/16" without any need to increase the depth of the socket head screws that are used to mount the head ... if i recall correctly this would raise compression to approx. 7:1 + ... i think this is about all you would want to run with stock crankshaft and rods... this plate worked well at 5.7:1 on an engine i used about 20 years ago ... hope this answers your question ... pictures of this plate are on previous postings ... always an optimist ...Gene French
