Accessory gas tank gauge. For sale

Post by Dropacent » Thu Oct 29, 2020 9:15 pm

We have 3 left from our last run, so when these sell, that will make 80 out there in T-land, and we are thrilled about that. Getting ready to start the holiday batch, for those stockings. Your wifey ( or husband) will be thrilled that you did your own shopping this year ! We’ve had a couple that would not fit customers tanks, but those have been tracked down to reproduction oval tanks. The threaded opening on these certain tanks are just a tad under size. We have taken care of that problem, and the last one to be resized is on the way back tomorrow. We can make these for any tank, square, oval, round and even 1926-7 cowl tanks. We can make them for any special depth tank, as long as they take a T sized cap. Same price on all, $125 ppd to your door. Give a shout if interested, tmorsher@icloud.com is the only way. No website, no 800 number, not on twitter or Facebook, just email, tmorsher@icloud.com Stay BUSY and stay SAFE! Tim

Just wanted to put in a plug for these gas gauges. The quality is top notch and best of all, it works great! Not always the case with Model T era accessories!

The funny thing is up until I had this gauge, I figured my tank was usually around half full. Turns out that most of the time I’m riding around with about a 1/4 tank! Looking through the filler hole can be deceiving, especially with an oval tank! I double checked it with a dipstick and sure enough, Tim’s gauge was right on!

Don’t let this one pass you by!

Thanks so much for the nice words, Dan ! I think we’ve sold about 90 now. With all the bad news lately , there is still T excitement out there. Jonah, I’ll answer you with a long response. When you get into these things, there are always hiccups. I do it because of the challenge. I knew most every T took a standard T gas cap. I think the torpedo would be an exception. I carefully checked out the levels in all the tank designs, including the 26-7 cowl tank. When we first brought these out, we sent out the first half dozen, two were for cowl tanks ( 26-7 ). No longer having a roadster, I assumed the same design would work. The two fellows that recd the first cowl gauges got in touch with me, saying they wouldn’t fit into their tanks. They were very nice to work with me, and we determined that there is a choked down area just inside the cap on the cowl tank. We were able to modify the 26-7 cowl tank design to make it work. The metal bale is made thinner and the float is a bit smaller diameter. Otherwise , they work the same. These floats cost us much more than the regular size, but we absorbed that extra cost.
We fixed up these early purchasers with a cap that would work along with our thanks for helping. My main point is it sometimes takes a T village to figure these things out. Being involved so much with tin Lizzie for 50 years now, it’s always a wonderful day when I learn something new about them ! So, enjoy the ride!

Good afternoon, Do you have any for the under cowl tank? I would love to have one for my '26 Tudor.

Tim have several items I'm wanting to order, this gauge is one of them. I'm thinking I have an original oval tank, how can I tell if it's a reproduction vs original. Thanks, Scott
