compasses were marketed to auto campers as well.

Ceebynite, leedawl, and Telaway were some of the catchy names they used for marketing to everyday people

Here is a running board cooler that is in pretty nice shape for its age- had it up on the shelf for way too long and should belong to someone who can put it to better use. Cloth is in great shape other than a few stains. If anyone is interested, send me a PM.

Linus,
This is a Crescent Co cooler, patent 1902. From the days when ice was cut out of a lake or river in January, buried in sawdust and dug up as needed for ice box or cold drinks. In this thing the lemonade was put in the porcelain tank and sawdusty branch water ice put behind it. $125 plus shipping. The other ting is a Crosley Icy Ball refrigeration device from the thirties. The left ball was put in the cooler, right ball stayed out.$175 plus shipping. PM me if interested.

Hi grizwaldo-
that crosley ice ball is sure unusual. I guess crosley was making coolers in those days werent they?

For auto camping, they seem a little large for me. I have a good water cooler already so I think they are better suited for someone else. I will share them with some of my other auto camp friends and see if i can help you make a sale.

Thanks again for sharing!

That valve is not tight but,yes it would need to seal first in the drink tank and then in the ice section or water from the melted ice would run out the crack.

still looking for antique auto camp equipment.

Runningboard kitchens, folding cots, folding tables, axes, shovels. Things that say AUTO CAMP on them. Tents, stoves, stove stands, cook kits, water buckets, medical equipment. You name it! Things from the 20s or 30s.

We had to cancel our antique auto camp this year which was disappointing but perhaps we can have another one later in the year.

I have a set of binoculars in a leather pouch which I don’t use any more. They are dated 1918 and belonged to a J Cripps, probably in WWI. I have no idea what they are worth. I bought them in London about sixty years ago.

Thought you might be interested in a original auto campers Tin Can Tourist radiator badge in excellent original condition with great original patina. It measures 3 inches in diameter. It is solid brass sheet with a original lacquer coating. It is the only one of these I have ever seen in years of collecting auto camping period accessories. I am asking $100 plus postage.

Thanks jay for the TCT badge. Its perfect. The company that made it is still in business. I think they have been around for 160 years.

Here are some pics of the riddle sheet metal runningboard kitchen. Made in SF. I have one of the kitchens but not the brochure.

I figured I would bump my auto camp post. Still collecting 1920s era camping equipment. Anything that mounts to a running board, any canvas tents or folding cots. Stoves, lanterns, hand crank flash lights, folding tables.... anything marketed to car owners for long distance driving. Chains, pumps, wipers....

thanks,
Linus

still looking for auto camp items

Please let me know if you have anything that might have gone in a car for a long trip in the 1920s. It doesnt have to be specifically a camping item - it can be any type of accessory that you might need to undertake a long trip.

Thanks!

That is also a kampkook yes but this previous one was an 1896 patented kamp kook kit which was a large tin box with a cook grill around it and contained a full cook set inside.

Stoves are easier to find and I have a few but thank you very much for looking our for one for me.

Linus,
In case you didn't already know, that large touring car stuck in the mire in the photo above is a late teens-early 20s Hudson. The white triangle on the radiator shell gives it away.
Knowledge that isn't shared, is wasted knowledge.
