WTB or trade Hassler coil
Looking for a set of two Hassler coil springs for a roadster. I have all the brackets etc, just need the coils. I have a very nice set of touring springs to trade. The touring springs measure 6 1/2" high with a coil diameter of .375". The roadster springs are shorter in height by an inch or so with the same coil diameter. I'll pay shipping each way on a trade.
Please email me if you can help.

Re: WTB or trade
I learn something new on this forum every day. At 73, I had no idea that Hassler made different rate coil springs for different T body styles, and judging from the number of Hasslers and Hassler springs sold here and on EBAY, probably 99.9% of sellers don't know, either. Did the springs on the later pancake Hasslers vary due to body styles, too?

The Panckes are supposed to be one size fits all for T's. The Front and Rear springs/pods are different but no way to mix them upModelTWoods wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 2:07 pmI learn something new on this forum every day. This is a good thread for info on them and installation http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/82 ... 1542162821

Re: WTB or trade
This Hassler Catalog was posted by Jay in Northern California back in 2014 http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/41 ... 1394983665. On Page 24, there is a list of the different springs used on the various body styles (prior to 1926-27). The description states that the "Hassler Shock Absorber Springs are enameled in different color markings to designate the different types." All appear to have been painted black with some having the ends in white, green, aluminum or red.
I have never seen any of the colors listed on the springs nor have I seen a table showing the various diameters/heights of the springs.
Does anyone have this information they can share?

Re: WTB or trade
Mark referenced provided the link to a recent discussion about Hasslers springs viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17528 which include the catalogue the fact that the springs were color coded. In any case if you have some laying around it would be helpful to all if we can identify ALL the Hassler springs by height and/or color code and/or a stamped number and what set they are for duel springs, TT or other make. I have some springs that are 6" and 6-1/2" tall, uncompressed, there is no color coding or stamped # that I can see. They are part of set front & back for a T. I will be glad to collect and record the data provided.
