The Ultimate NH carb upgrade kit - All 6 Sale Kits have been spoken for

Post by Scott_Conger » Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:05 pm

Thank you all for your great response. All 6 Sale Kits available for price reduction and free shipping have been spoken for, so this Special Reduced Price Sale is concluded.

This kit contains:

1 - NH Float Valve Installation Tool with heat treated drive end. It is the ONLY tool available anywhere that will install modern valves with no slipping, and with NO DAMAGE. Whether you're a tool nut and will use it only once, or you're in the business and will use it regularly, this tool is made to give years of service.
1 - NH Full Flow Float Valve. This is the ONLY modern valve made with the correct, original LARGE orifice as supplied by the OEM. Additionally, it is designed with extra relief to make the most of that extra flow. A modern Viton tip completes the upgrade of this unique product
1 - Lead sealing washer. This lead washer will give a certain and permanent seal, where the standard hard fiber washer will weep with almost certainty when mated to a rough or porous casting.

All items in this kit are made by me, and are available nowhere else.

This is normally $68 plus $8 shipping. However, as a New Year's Eve Special, I am offering this package for a flat $65 and free shipping to the lower 48. This offer is limited to 6 units total. After these sell, the price reverts to normal and all shipping fees will apply.

To purchase your kit, you must email me. Please do not PM me as the system is not consistent and I do not look for PM's. Thank you and Happy New Year.

Well now, there is a good idea. You should also write up a rebuild sheet about removing the old seat, cleaning the mating surface and installing the new one. Does the seat tool have a center drill hole in the upper end? That would make it easier to center in a drill press.

You probably also do this, Scott, but years ago I made some tools to remove seats, plugs etc that are all intended to be used on a drill press.

Some fit in the chuck and some just center under the chuck with a center punch holding them in place. Center the part to be removed under the center punch and the tool, apply down pressure with the handle and turn the removal tool and nearly everything will turn out without stripping the slot, etc. It is one of the few brilliant Ideas I've ever had that turned out to be great and useful a dozen times a day.

I've been telling people to spend the extra bucks to get the needle and seat you make, use the lead washer to seal and their NH leaking problems are over.

Good on ya, Scott. This is something that has been needed.

Thank you Stan. Your encouragement is appreciated.

The handle is hexagonal and fits a drill chuck in a drill press. The "T" handle limits it's insertion, and the hex provides certain gripping with the chuck (or wrench if desired). At present, I don't include a center hole on top right now, but certainly may consider it

Good idea Stan. I have not needed drill press assistance with Scott’s valve tool. After I heat them up and let cool they come right out.
Scott: Nice job on the tool and the valves. Fixed a low flow problem on a friend’s 24 Touring. Dan

Thanks Dan, and am glad to hear it helped your friend's car. I never get tired of hearing stories like that. With through-put of fuel a good 50%+ over stock modern valves, this thing makes rebuilds perform like they should (and did when new). And you're right...I nearly always heat 'em first to get the old ones out.

I make a lot of needles and seats. Just about anything you can buy the seat is designed for pressure flow fuel inlet and the hole is quite small. I have boxes of steel needles and viton tipped needles and make the new seats the size or larger of the originals. Often I can just rework the existing seat but often it is easier to just make a new one. Scott's are the only ones I have seen made with the correct larger inlet hole.

I recently worked on a U & J that somebody had scabbed a Holley G seat in and a Kingston 5 ball that had been switched over to what looked like a lawn mower engine carburetor needle and seat. Neither one would run over about 30 MPH. They weren't as bad as the Grose jet ones that won't flow enough either.

These work flawlessly. FLAWLESSLY. I posted awhile back that I spent several hours rebuilding a couple NH's with a young guy interested in the work. We put my last two from Scott in. Run like a scalded dog. Well, as close as an NH can get to that.

Scott: I have a request. When are you going to make a tool to remove the mixture jet from the bottom of the NH? If you do, put me first on the list. Thanks, Dan.
