FS NOS Schrader Universal Round valve stem nuts
FS: Set of 4 NOS Schrader round valve stem nuts. Correct for all Model T's through 1916, I believe.
These have never been on a car. a very gentle glass bead blasting removes the plating. I will do this for you if you want for an additional $10. You will have to buff them out. I have a few sets left. $80+S/H set of 4.
Last picture show what a stem cover looks like on the nut. cover not included

I’m guessing those do not fit the 777 stems but the 725 stems.

Mike- you are correct- the rim nuts that fit the 777 stems look like these.

Gary: The rim nuts you have are not for a Model T! The ones Dan McEachern posted are correct. Dan spent a lot time and effort to make these exactly like the originals.

Did the originals have the Schrader Universal Valve USA NY on them?

Re: FS NOS Schrader Universal Round valve stem nuts
Larry,
Funny. These work on my early T's and most of my friends. They have been on at least 5 Stynoski winning cars that I personalty know. I have also taken them off early T wheels that still had the shrunken rock hard tires on them. Those are a real treat to get off!!
Use what you want. If someone has actual documentation from the archives then I will gracefully eat my words on this forum
By the way Dan's workmanship looks excellent.

Re: FS NOS Schrader Universal Round valve stem nuts
Hi Gary- I'm guessing that the larger 525 stem was used at one point. Forgive my ignorance, but were the 525 stems threaded all the way to the end or just past where your rim nuts stop and the cap threads on? This discussion should probably get moved to the other forum to continue. Sorry for crashing in on your FS posting.

Re: FS NOS Schrader Universal Round valve stem nuts
I probably have more original rim nuts than anyone, and not one of them says Schrader. Mine all fit 777 and 888 valves. Gary, do yours fit those valves?

Re: FS NOS Schrader Universal Round valve stem nuts
None of the tubes that have newly made, non correct brass valves have the valve stems used by Ford. To make my point, even with original dust covers you must start screwing down the dust cover at the top of the valve, and screw it all the way down. With the originals you don't have to do that. Too bad for all the people with those prize winning cars! Of course that extra weight works against you too.

Re: FS NOS Schrader Universal Round valve stem nuts
The original one I sent to the USA to be posted on to a forum member had no markings whatsoever. It looked just like the ones Dan McE has made, except that it was stamped out and then knurled/threaded, rather than totally machined
All of this is sidestepped if you can find a set of Dill valve covers with the sliding thread within. They screw onto the small end of the stem, and that is the same on any stem. Then again, they are not Henry certified authentic original equipment.

Re: FS NOS Schrader Universal Round valve stem nuts
If I am wrong then I have a few questions.
1. Does anyone have any Archive info?
2. Does anyone have any Ford vendor purchase orders?
3. Does anyone have an example of a small diameter valve stem ferrel or example of a small fellow hole?
4. If these were used through 1915/1916 that would mean there would be over 4+
million made. Then why are they so hard to find?
I, like a bunch of fellow scavengers, have been taking early non restoreable wheels apart for years.( for hubs, fellow plates etc.)and I have never seen small holes for the 777 or found any attached stems/hardware. I have always thought, my opinion only) these were used on early motorcycles and possible cycle cars. I have found 3 in all the years of digging through coffee cans and cigar boxes at swap meets. there are good trading material with the motorcycle guys
think about other parts that had shorter products runs, 2 piece drive shafts, oil fill timers, 1911 JB coil boxes, all of which I have found with more ease then 777 hardware.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion of what is correct. I prefer to argue these points at a swap meet with a cold beer in my hand among fellow rust addicts.
I am always in favor of new facts uncovered in the archives. There is so much yet to be discovered.
I will gladly stand corrected if anyone has Ford archival proof.
