Too be sure you know, the original AC setup was cable not rods.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas! :shock:

1925 Cut down pickup

Some original AC setups were rods, but most were cable. Somewhere I have images of an original AC rods setup ad. Yes, though, good to point out not to try too hard to find an original rod setup.

The original A-C setup was a rod from the brake pedal clamp to a guide bracket on the drive shaft tube and then a cable loop thru a pulley to each rear wheel brake arm. The pulley acted as an equalizer. The brake arm on the band had a clamp that the cable made a loop through.

The 1926/27 AC's, might have used rods. I do not recall ever seeing any original small drum AC brakes that were not cable. There were other brands that could have been rod activated. AC is not a type it is a brand, just like Rocky Mtn is not a type it is a brand.

Here you go. I agree that cables are what you commonly see on originally ACs, though.
