Re: FS 12V starter + bendix
Be careful!!!
About 3 years ago, when I was less knowledgeable, I bought a box of really good Ruckstell parts from Bob at a very reasonable price. Upon arrival, I opened the box, was very satisfied with the content, and put it in a back room of my house. A year later, after locating a Ruckstell housing, I realized that the perfect Ruckstell parts are for TT.
So I called Bob and explained that I hadn't realize the difference, totally my mistake, and a year after receipt.
First he couldn't recall selling the parts to me (????). So I offered to send pictures of the box with his return address still on it.
Then he said how could he know that I hadn't swap out the contents of the box. Also, that he was not obligated to do anything, since a year had elapsed.
Technically that is correct, of course. If this had been an EBay transaction I would have understood. But on the Forum, in Model T circles, where things are more about character and principle than making money, different standards apply and I had let my guard down.
With the exception of one other negative experience (with someone who is well respected on the forum), I have had many great interactions with other Model Ters, who I will probably never meet face to face. But I felt a brotherhood and I felt that it was not about the dollar.

Re: FS 12V starter + bendix
Guys thanks but it's OK
Everyone has a deal gone south but who here would give a full refund a year later and I'm sure it's here in the board archives if anyone cares rehash a deal
Just so everyone knows haven't sold TT Parts in a long time meaning years
Rich? I don't keep records past 60 days if you still feel screwed send me a link to the AD and email me picture's of the parts let's see what we can do
Otherwise let's just leave it

Re: FS 12V starter + bendix
This is the true joy of having the classified section set up in the “forum” format. I too have felt the burn of a “non believer” airing their opinion in public. This is a complication that motivates us regulars to operate with an “above and beyond” type mentality. Nv Bob has sold off a number of items over the last couple of years as he has been switching from T’s to steam... it’s no surprise he doesn’t remember every sale

Re: FS 12V starter + bendix
Lots of TT folks here on the classifieds. I'm sure if Rich lists the Ruckstell parts for sale, he will likely recoup his costs and possibly realize a small profit also. I'm sure someone would like to acquire the parts for their TT project. Give it a shot and see what happens.

Re: FS 12V starter + bendix
I'm bought from Bob and always been happy and satisfied. Buying parts and not knowing the difference between T and TT is not an excuse. Neither is waiting a year later to find out. Study your needs and order and buy accordingly.

Re: FS 12V starter + bendix
As stated in my opening post, I was wrong (see my opening post). It's the price I pay for being a new-bee.
But, this was never about money.
Telling me that I was possibly swapping out parts was below the belt.
I never received a response to my email of Jan 28th.
I apologize for having integrity, character, and guts.
Terry, PLEASE contact me.
