Hi Gentlemen, I need only one original Ford Babbitt front bushings in the goal to finish my 1914 driving shaft restoration as well. My rear end restoration going well. Here bellow a picture of what I'm looking for. I don't want the brass reproduction. Thank you for the attention about my request.

You might check with Larry "Original" Smith. Suggest editing your title, "WTB original Ford Babbitt drive shaft bushing".
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

I've seen them two ways. Some have the Ford script, and some do not. I've been saving cores for years, hoping that someday someone will be able to re-babbit them.

Hi Dear Larry, If you supply one to Bill Crosby he may be able to make them again. I do not want to commit for him but it will be nice having them available again in the Original way.

Most original Ford ones are a thin layer of babbitt over a steel sleeve.

I’m curious why you want a babbitt one and don’t want to use bronze? Have you had some problems with a bronze one?

I have a question. The bushing obviously has babbitt on the thrust face, does it also have babbitt along the length of the bushing? As a replacement, are they delivered with enough material to be shaved/reamed to fit?

Just curious,
Eric

Yes, they need to be faced - reamed, yes IF your d.s is stock O.D. or a new replacement.
