Re: WTB original Ford Babbitt drive shaft bushing
I've seen them two ways. Some have the Ford script, and some do not. I've been saving cores for years, hoping that someday someone will be able to re-babbit them.

Re: WTB original Ford Babbitt drive shaft bushing
Hi Dear Larry, If you supply one to Bill Crosby he may be able to make them again. I do not want to commit for him but it will be nice having them available again in the Original way.Original Smith wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 9:03 pmI've seen them two ways. Re: WTB original Ford Babbitt drive shaft bushing
Most original Ford ones are a thin layer of babbitt over a steel sleeve.
I’m curious why you want a babbitt one and don’t want to use bronze? Have you had some problems with a bronze one?

Re: WTB original Ford Babbitt drive shaft bushing
I have a question. The bushing obviously has babbitt on the thrust face, does it also have babbitt along the length of the bushing? As a replacement, are they delivered with enough material to be shaved/reamed to fit?
Just curious,
Eric

Re: WTB original Ford Babbitt drive shaft bushing
Yes, they need to be faced - reamed, yes IF your d.s is stock O.D. or a new replacement.
