Re: 5/16 Nuts
Square? Hex? Hex size? How thick?
As fussy as you are Larry, you are leaving a lot of details out...
Here’s one that’s just about to be finished by a raven:

Re: 5/16 Nuts
Adam: You got me on that one, although I've yet to see a square nut with a washer face! The thickness would be just under 9/32" hex.

Re: 5/16 Nuts
Larry, They do exist! I've taken them off of antique and vintage machinery for years and save them for restoration use. Early Machinery/Machinist Handbooks even give dimensions for them. I don't know how conveniently available they are nowadays....
1913 Canadian Touring & 1905 Queen, both cars are 4 generation family owned cars

Re: 5/16 Nuts
Depends on your terminology.
The one on the left has a washer face on the bottom by modern terms.
But all of these that have a chamfer on the top and are just flat on the bottom could be considered to have a “washer face” too.
Post a picture of exactly what you are after. I’ve got some decent used stuff, but nothing NOS with ravencote on it.

Re: 5/16 Nuts
Gary,
You can do your own with a black oxide kit or gun bluing kit.
You will need a sealer or and oil finish when done. I’m sure Ford used oil, but that’s just a guess.
It’s very easy.

Eastwood makes those kits. I've been using them for years. You have to clear coat them afterward.

Re: 5/16 Nuts
I have some of Otis' 5/16 nuts Larry - I'll dig them out and see if they "fit the bill".

Safe to assume Larry has either found what he needed or doesn't need them anymore?
