Have you considered making your own box? That's what I did. I bought the steel sheet at Home Depot and used a cheap brake from Harbor Freight to bend it.

Dale, if GG doesn't want your Larry Smith box, I'd like it.

Larry’s are perfect. I had several and only slowly replaced them when I found great originals. Hard to find an original in any condition. Larry should make some more!

I would make more if I could get orders for a dozen or more. With shipping and all, it would be close to $100.

Larry, why not start a new post and see if there is interest in battery boxes.

Today I learned something from Mark's second link. The sides of the battery box are made in TWO pieces! I have an original one, largely all there but corroded really thin in places. I have made three replacements to this pattern, in one piece, with just ONE seam on one corner only. The forward face of my original is heavily encrusted with oil/road grime build up, so much so that it is almost 1/4" thick. Today I went digging, and lo and behold, there is the second seam.
Back to the drawing board!

I would take a battery box if Larry would make one.
