MTB--21 inch split rim for 1925 T

Post by DickC » Thu Mar 18, 2021 7:26 pm

I need a good, usable split rim to replace a Kelsey split rim on my spare tire rack. No point in having tire on the rack if it won't work on the existing non Kelsey wheels. If I get one, I will have a good Kelsey for sale or trade. Dick C.

Click on the pencil and you can edit the title, handy to know so you can update the ad when you find one. :)
All Ford 21" wheels use the same rims, so if you do not have Ford wheels, we would need to know what brand they are to match. Are they Chevrolet or?
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

The wheels are ford and all of the rims on the car are NOT Kelsey. The rim that is on the spare tire rack is labeled Kelsey. It will not line up to the valve/stud locations. There is a slight difference. I had a 24 T that my brother restored just before he died. He was a Model A guy and didn't know the difference between Hayes/Ford wheels and Kelsey. He bought Kelsey wheels that were restored and put Hayes clincher rims on the wheels. When I got the car, it would lope down the road. I realized that the rims were not fully on the wheels and therefore not concentric. I had to either get different wheels or different rims. I had a set of good wheels in the barn and put the hayes rims on and had no further problems. Lesson learned was that you can not mix Hayes/Ford with Kelsey.
