Ted, there are differences in these. Generally 26-7 types have an extra hole in a recess, below the crank handle hole. This hole takes a set screw which threads into a boss on the front spring Y clip.

Hope this helps avoid any confusion. Allan from down under.

Allan, thanks. I got this and several other body parts with a purchased of a running chassis. The frame serial number is 26 and the owner thought the car was 27. Based on what you see, what year is this apron?

Thanks for the help.

Does the 27 radiator apron have an attached thimble behind the crank hole? Mine is missing the thimble, but its an original apron. It has the mounting screw dimple below the crank hole. The repops have the thimble, but mine has no evidence of the thimble ever being there.

From the encyclopedia http://www.mtfca.com/encyclo/P-R.htm#rad
1924-1926
Some flat tube radiators used during this period. Beginning in late 1925 an optional brass, nickel-plated, shell was offered. During 1926 three and four-row round tube radiators were used in addition to the standard five-row. The bottom skirt was secured to the engine mount/spring clip with a screw. Skirts used with the nickel shell had a nickel trim strip.

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

I have yet to see a decent reproduction of these aprons. Most are semi finished and need bending/tweaking to fit, not to mention drilling. The real failing is they are almost flat, lacking the rounded fullness of the originals. It's great to have them available if one is needed, but they are a pale imitation of the real thing.

Wow, thanks all. I appreciate it. Looks like this is a repop. If anyone wants it, please make offer.

No Ted, the second set of photos shows the full curvature of the panel. None of the repops I have seen are made so well as that. It's a nice one, for a 1923-25 model.
