Re: wtb UK spindle
OK I'll ask, what is a UK spindle? Or do you want right hand steering?

Re: wtb UK spindle
Or just the correct spindle arm? In which case a picture is better than a description

Hope you are not trying to match this non-Ford spindle that was on ebay recently!

Not 100% sure but think the one shown is Chevrolet so might not be hard to match up.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Re: wtb UK spindle
It's for a custom build so original application is irreverent, just need the offset like the one in Layden's photo. Thanks for the Chevy tip, I'll look into it.

Re: wtb UK spindle
That is not an "offset " spindle as the centerline of the wheel bearings intersects the centerline of the kingpin.
It is a lowering spindle as the wheel bearings are higher up the kingpin effectively lower the car relative to the wheel.
These are offset or trailing spindles as the terms are used concerning Model T Fords.

Re: wtb UK spindle
Don't think they are the Mercury kit ones
The photos below show the front axle produced for sale with the Mercury speedster kits. They are from an article Jarvis wrote that appeared in the Jul-Aug 1980 "Vintage Ford" and is used by permission. They were on page 17. http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/41 ... 1407775744
Also http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/179374/187392.html for the large picture
Not sure if these were right/left threaded - someone knows for sure? These pictures are from eBay This link ID them as Chevy. Same starting serial numbers and same characteristic marks

Re: wtb UK spindle
Frank,
You seem to have pictures of 2 different spindles in the Mercury axles.
Smaller pictures show a stock pair of 1926-1927 T spindles.
The blue spindle is as the picture is labeled. It is an English drop frame spindle. Am confident they were left and right threaded. Note the flat on the boss that the bearing race goes against. Just like American spindles 1919 era thru 1927. Chevrolet spindles are round there like earlier Model T. The English drop frame spindle seems to drop even further than the Chevrolet!

Re: wtb UK spindle
I’m a bit fuzzy, but I believe the Manchester front axle spindles had a bit more drop in them. That may be what the original poster is after. Mercury, to my knowledge , didn’t supply spindles.

Re: wtb UK spindle
After looking and searching at various photos in my opinion
It is NOT a 2694-DF based on the markings indicated
But matches a Chevy Spindle's markings and as others have made reference to

2 comments about this picture.
ONE and the big one: looks like someone spaced the hubs outward on the spindles! More leverage on the spindle means more likely to break!
Two: appears to be a Chevrolet 490 axle and suspension but there is no drop in the axle center. Early or ??
