I have a bunch of baskets; if you can give me the dimensions of the one you need I may have it.

Thanks RV, but it's the brass bracket that attaches to the running board that I need.

Bill, most of these brackets I've seen are made of steel.

I just assumed they were brass - thanks for the info Kim! I'm guessing they were painted the same color as the body?

Re: WTB E&J carbide generator bracket
The bracket you are looking for is steel with brass knobs that are the same as used on the head lamps
this is my bracket on my 1912 with an E+J generator.-

Here is one for your reference.
I sold a generator with the mounting bracket about 3 months ago on the MTFCA.

Re: WTB E&J carbide generator bracket
Just curious, but what did the brackets look like for the horizontal mounted carbide tank?

I've never heard of a horizontal carbide tank. Are you referring to the good ol' Prestolite B tank often
seen on running boards, using acetylene rather than carbide? Wish I had one that was full, as nowadays it's impossible
to get one of those old tanks refilled.

Re: WTB E&J carbide generator bracket
Tim if you go to a welding supply company that fills tanks you can look through their tanks for offset valves and buy the filled tank then you just trade the tank in once empty for another filled tank. Of course you’ll have to pay for the acetylene. They are readily available in my state.

Re: WTB E&J carbide generator bracket
Tim : A friend has two brass brackets that are meant to hold a cylindrical tank of some sort and was wondering if they are for a T carbide tank.

Re: WTB E&J carbide generator bracket
Thanks John. Already tried that. No luck. So still looking for a decent carbide generator anyway for my '11. Preferably an E & J.JTT3 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 9:09 pmTim if you go to a welding supply company that fills tanks you can look through their tanks for offset valves and buy the filled tank then you just trade the tank in once empty for another filled tank. Got some possible leads, just need to finish up.
