WTB Parts for a Stephens Six !Possible Source Found!
Got in a conversation with a person in Sweden looking for parts to restore a Stephens Six. Turns out the car was mad in Freeport Illinois (thats not far from Bob's in Loves Park). Turns out that the engine was made here in Moline by Roots and VanDerVoot. Any way what he needs are door handles and hub caps but I'm sure he'd be interested in anything for it. If you come across anything send me an email & I'll get you in touch with him
you come

Unless you are a member you can't post photo on the HCCA but an ad there and maybe a link to this one might help;

There’s also a Facebook group called, “1920s, 1930s Brass cars and orphan makes” that’s rather helpful with unusual nickel era marques too.

He has been looking for 10years. Has already contacted some owners in Freeport IL where the car was originally made. Further discussion says he's looking for some differential parts (ring & pinion) etc. What's is always needed are pictures as a reference of what your looking for, to many variations.Mark Gregush wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 10:12 pmGreat! Getting more eyes on the ground and/or swap table is about the only way to stumble across a restorer's Holy Grail.
Turns out he had already contacted the car people in Freeport IL.

For the hub cap, 3D print and do a lost wax casting. Wonder if the rear end was made by them or gotten from outside supplier? If outside supplier is the case, maybe look for an interchange parts list or maybe Chilton's from the time the car was built. Even if they did built the rear end, the guts may be the same as other cars. My interchange only covers 1927 to about 1933 so does not list this car.

Biddle 1920 model B-5
Hackett 191901923
Jones 1920-1921
Kelsey truck 1920-1923
Moon 1919-1920, 6-42 Victory
Paterson 1920-1921, 6-50
Patriot truck 1920-1921
Stanwood 1921-1922

Re: WTB Parts for a Stephens Six !Possible Source Found!
Just checked my parts books and I have ignition parts for the Stephens but need to know the YOM. In 1917 and in 1920 -1922 they used the Conneticut system. Late in 1917 thru 191 they used Delco. In late 1922 to 1924 they used both Delco and Autolite. I have all the parts listed for point sets, distributor caps and rotors, all years and systems. Ooops just see and in previous post it is a 1920, guess it's Conneticut

Thanks for your reply. My 1920 Stephens has magneto ignition. I think many cars exported to Europe had magneto ignition. When I brought it home it had a scintilla magneto so I don´t need parts for batteri ignition. If something else shows up.Please inform me.
Best regards
Claes

Stephens Six Gasket
Here is the gasket I have for a Stephens. Victor #84
Has a damaged spot, but I am quite certain it would work fine. The sealing ring on the combustion chamber is fine. $35 bucks plus shipping. Described as 17-22.

Frank,. I was perusing an antique store today and I found a motometer for a Stephens Salient Six. It was next to two Model T radiator caps that I bought. I have photos of the motometer and the card from the antique store. I can't post them from my phone. I'll add photos Monday when I get home.

Victor 84, Fitzgerald 209 Mc Cord 5039. Yes Victor 84 fits Stephens . I appreciate your efforts to help me but I am afraid that this gasket will leak. It´s very complicated to renew the head gasket on a Stephens so I can´t take the risk.
