RADIO motometer , great T & A accessory

Post by Dropacent » Mon Dec 06, 2021 9:23 pm

Face it………if you want something other than socks, fresh undies, chewing tobacco and smokie meat treats in your stocking, you are going to have to buy it yourself. Imagine “santas” surprise when you pull this baby out of your stocking on Xmas morn! ( warning……probably be best to have a nice surprise something in “Santas” stocking. …….. This is one that doesn’t pop up very often, but it’s the sharing season! I have two, don’t really need even one , but these are just the bees knees. This was the famous Motometer offering right towards the transition of Lizzie to Henry’s lady. Works well on both. Radio was the current rage, so they called it the Radio Motometer. A small bulb illuminates the thermometer tube, and gives a neat green glow to it at night, making it easily seen by the driver, but not a distraction. Very hard to find these complete and working, but this is both, and even has a brand new Motometer thermometer installed. $375 , tmorsher@icloud.com and I can be talked into sharing.

What band width does it play, I guess since there weren't FM stations back then it would be AM. LOL. Steve Jelf , you NEED one of these.

Oh Man, Does that quote bring back memories ! I could remember every word. I think it was Wolfman Jack that used to broadcast from there for a few years, too.

Tim, I am interested, along with a lot of other people, as to where you got the new motometer thermometer. I have several motometers with a non functioning thermometer and would love to put a new thermometer into them and use them. I had a lot of experience with the thermometer up my backside when I was a kid but have not seen them since. Greatly appreciate the help. Frank

Frank, I was able to buy a nice supply from the manufacturer years ago, but kind of covet what I have left, as I collect radiator gizmos. I have some senior size that I would part with, as I generally collect T size meters.
