WTB Headlight Reflectors 1923-25

Post by SurveyKing » Mon Jan 10, 2022 7:24 am

Does anyone have a pair of Silver Plated headlight reflectors for my 1924 that does not need replating? The vendors seem to sell only the chrome plated version but that is not what Ford used and I just like the look of the silver plate.

The same reflectors would have been used from 1915 to 1927. These are the current replacements that many are using. https://www.modeltford.com/item/6590BQ.aspx
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Chrome reflects about 60%, silver up to 92%; this is why it is illegal in most states to use chrome plated reflectors--but I doubt anyone is enforcing that rule!

Are your reflectors to far gone to polish? Some good original reflectors have been thrown away because they were heavily tarnished. If the reflector has an even dulled out or greenish finish they can be almost renewed by using silver polishing cloths. Using the cloths correctly will yield surprising results. They will turn out better than buying the chrome plated ones almost all the times.

John,
Yes, I have tried using some liquid silver polish, but they are too far gone for that.

Where in Texas are you John?
