Do they have to be black ?
I have some nickel ones that do not have the M.
I will have to look for the black ones, I think I should have some. Not sure of the M on them either.

No problem Larry.
I don't have any brass ones.
I guess you're picture is brass, but looks black on my phone.
Snyder's has brass ones with the M for $1 each.

The ones Snyder’s have do not have the circle with the M in the center ... that would have been too easy... I’m sure someone out there have a couple only need 3 more. I have the ones from Snyder’s but an engraver wants $200 to do 10.... Larry

I wonder if the top off of these could be removed and put onto the desired base - very pricey, though!

Larry-
What are these going onto?
I have never seen a Murphy brand fabric attach type of fastener.
Most that I have seen with the M are the flat type with backing burr that rivet onto fabric.
The other fabric attach fasteners have no M.

I thought the fasteners used in 1910 were cast, not hollow like the one in the picture.

Thanks for the reply... the ones pictured are for my 1910 Tourabout.... was an unrestored original car I am restoring, Top was ruff but original , one side of the rear curtain that attaches to the buggy rail was missing. The Murphy’s pictured were on the other side, I have seen and have the ones Charley posted pictures of and they were used on the early t’a also.... I would like to find 3 or more of the ones pictured. Thanks Larry

One thing you must be careful of is the fasteners in some places were attached to the bow drill before the bow drill or top material was sewn onto the top.
