Stromberg OF Carbs. Rebuilt
I have three rebuilt Stromberg OF carbs. Complete, tested, and ready to go. I used some of the Tim Morsher steel replacement parts on these carbs. All three have new steel needles (identical to the originals) and the extra choke spring added so you can use the stock T choke mechanism to pull the choke on and the spring pulls it open . All three have a tag stating the optimum initial settings for the low and high speed jets. Asking $625.00 each including the shipping (Canada and the continental USA). Prefer pay pal (family & friends), personal check, or an International Money Order. I expect to have a nice U&J set-up ready to go soon as well. Looks like this will be the end of the line for my carb rebuilding as I have developed severe nerve damage in my arm/back and have lost most of the use of my right hand with little hope of much improvement. Anyway,.... I'm not complaining as it's been fun, and I've made lots of friends here on this site as well as from my many years at Hershey. What a great hobby filled with great guys, especially on this wonderful MFTCA site.

Sorry to hear about the end of your carb work. Been running the OF on my 22 coupe for a few years now and still preforms great. Your help in setup really did the trick.

Re: Stromberg OF Carbs. Rebuilt
John, you can still have the carb (thanks to Richard in VA). I thought waiting 3-4 days for a response was long enough as lots of guys express interest in something for sale, and you never hear from them again. You were the first to express interest, but I wonder just how long you think I should have waited for some sort of reply?? I sent emails, PMs, and a post on this site and heard zero back. I really didn't know if you were a farmer, a politician, a salesman, or a Doctor, but I too am very familiar with farming and it's crazy schedules. However, it only takes a minute or two to type a response to an email, a PM ,or a notification on the classified section. Richard has very kindly offered to let you get the carb if you still want it so please let me know. Cheers : Bruce

Dear John,
No disrespect intended, but you played that same game on me a few times (when you were not planting a crop) and I warned you. I see it is a pattern, do not disrespect a gentleman's agreement, follow through quickly, or take the rear tit. Do not forget it and send payment timely.
As stated before, no disrespect to you, but follow through..., farmer or not!
Hank

Re: Stromberg OF Carbs. Rebuilt
I can vouch for John as a nice all around guy and definitely a farmer. I also let him know on FB that Bruce was looking for him because John is on FB almost every day. I do not know why he could not come up with 5 minutes even if he is busy planting corn.
Hank is correct. If you want an item, you need to communicate with the seller on a daily basis.

Re: Stromberg OF Carbs. Rebuilt
I'm starting to lose sleep over this nonsense now and still don't know how to respond correctly without creating any negativity or making waves. I go to great lengths to establish and maintain respect and friendships in my everyday life and especially here on this truly amazing site. A lot of you guys have actually become friends even though most of us have never met (except for some Hershey visits) as we all share the same passion, and treasure the respect we all should provide and receive. Is there a suggested reasonable buyer response waiting time, and does it depend on ones "profession" or does one just accept the next serious buyer in line?? I'm getting a vision of John standing at my Hershey spot for three-four days trying to decide on a purchase while 5-6 guys stand behind him waiting for his decision............. I'm open to comments , advice, or suggestions to help resolve this silly issue and hopefully avoid any hard feelings. Cheers : Bruce

Re: Stromberg OF Carbs. Rebuilt
My opinion……FWIW. This thread would do much more good in the discussion area. It is loooong overdue. Perhaps thoughts from buyers AND sellers. As a long time seller and buyer I have plenty to contribute. From a sellers point, there are some very few buyers and tire kickers that make me absolutely crazy. As for the current problem, Bruce…… I’d say if he wasn’t on the horn or sent $$ Immediately his ship has sailed without him. Again, JMHO. My long association with Bruce tells me he is a stellar model T guy, even if a Canuck !

Re: Stromberg OF Carbs. Rebuilt
Just for the record, the last OF has been sold to Richard in VA. No disrespect or hard feelings towards farmer John but I'm pushin' 80 and have no extra time for games or trying to satisfy a list of serious and anxious customers patiently waiting on a decision. This is still the best old car site ever, so never take it for granted. Cheers : Bruce

Re: Stromberg OF Carbs. Rebuilt
If Farmer John has time to be on this forum and on Facebook, he has time to complete the transaction in a timely manner. As the old phrase goes "cash talks and BS walks". Don't loose any sleep over this deal. You were more than patient and were more than fair with Farmer John. He screwed up-or was never serious to begin with.

Re: Stromberg OF Carbs. Rebuilt
I had a wonderful interaction with Bruce when he sold me a carburetor, and I have spent time with John at the Speedster Reunion in Nebraska.
I would say 24-48 hours would be sufficient time to close the transaction, and the funds should be in the mail the next day. The dates and time the deal took place is listed, so there can be no argument there. Just my opinion. At a swap meet if you do not buy it now, the guy walking behind you will purchase it and you chance is gone.
