Re: Battery carrier
Could you please post the measurement of the inside width (side to side) of the carrier? There is a difference between those that were used with the metal battery box. Starting sometime in 1923 the battery bracket changed to part number 5150 B to accommodate the steel battery box. Prior to that, the bracket part number was 5150 which is narrower. I have one of each the difference is about 1/4". The brackets I have seen do not have a part number on them, so to tell for sure we need that measurement. Thanks

Re: Battery carrier
The steel battery box measures 9 1/2 by 7 3/4" so the dimension side to side needs to be 8 inches to accommodate it. What is the side to side measurement?

Re: Battery carrier
At least it should have a width of 7 7/8 to accommodate the steel battery box. If you still have it for sale, please check this measurement, I may be interested. Thank You

Re: Battery carrier
The carrier is missing the bent outwards tabs at the top of the U shaped strap. These are needed to accept the battery hold down clamps. They can be made and welded back on. Just a heads up to avoid any disappointments.

Re: Battery carrier
And the bottom strap is worn through, which has to be replaced.

Re: Battery carrier
There are additions to the carrier as well. Ay each mounting point an extra piece has been welded in to allow the carrier to be hung from the top of the frame rail rather than bolted to the sides of the rails. I have no idea why this was done.
