America First radiator cap ornament FOR SALE

Post by Dropacent » Wed Jun 22, 2022 10:24 pm

Louis V. Aronson was a very interesting man. An immigrant from Belgium, Louis was a very talented artist and entrepreneur. He founded the Art Metal Co in New York early on, but is most famous for the creation and manufacture of Ronson Lighters. Ronson went on to join with Remington and then Zippo. Lots of famous names here.
One of his earliest endeavors was making beautiful radiator cap ornaments for automobiles, model T Ford included. Shown is an ad of his dated 1912, and a cut sheet from an accessory catalog. Shown also is an original America First hood ornament. You may have to pay up to $1500 or more for a nice example today.
OR, you may be satisfied with one of our copies. As in the past, we are only going to make 10 of these. All will be numbered. No more after that. The example shown has a patina finish , but they will polish up very nicely and stay nice and bright. Up to you if you want to add the paint as the original was done. 8-32 threaded stud on the bottom with a stainless nut and lock washer. Our original has 4 little bumps to set perfectly on a stock T radiator cap, or can be mounted to a bakelite cap, as shown. $250 ppd to your door, and tmorsher@icloud.com to reach us.
