WTB - 21" split rims

Post by OldFord » Wed Jun 29, 2022 2:35 pm

Need a set of 4 21" split rims for wood wheels. They need to be extremely good condition, I already have junk ones...

Frank what type wheels do you have? It will make a difference in the type split rims I believe.

I couldn't say for sure. They look like plain wood wheels to me, how to tell?

Good ones are hard to find. Extremely good ones need a lamp with at least 1 wish left.

If what you have are solid, but bent up, they can & should be saved. It takes a press & patience.
I had to fix one bent like a pretzel from a tire store mounting attempt for a customer. They can be bent back into service.

Its amazing what can be accomplished when you have nothing to lose.

Typically the Hayes rims have the four lugs permanently attached.
The Kelsey rims have "loose lugs".
While there are other variations in rim profiles these are the major differences.
I have been looking for 21 inch Kelsey rims for some time now.
They seem to have been used on Canadain cars moreso than US cars.
