PENDING: 1913 - 1917 LOW Head - $165
Came across one too many Low heads than I need. This one came off a running car according to the fella I got it from originally. Its marked 1915 in pen on one end which is the year of car he had. So, its full of carbon and grime as seen. I did not see any freeze cracks in it, and it looks very nice. Just surplus to my needs now.
Asking $165 plus shipping to anywhere in the world.

Re: FS: 1913 - 1917 LOW Head
Can high compression pistons be used with this low head?

Re: FS: 1913 - 1917 LOW Head
I recall some past posts over the years about low heads and high compression pistons. I've never done it myself, nor do I know much about it other than what I've read. Perhaps others can answer.
However this isn't an early low head that had a bit more compression than the later low heads (I think the change was in 1912 sometime?). I believe this head came off a 1915, so Im sure it could be used for what you intend. I'd search last post on this forum and the old to double check.

Tim,
Are you using an original 11 block? I have a January 1913 block for my 13 runabout, popping some more compression in would be fun! I just worry about that 3rd main. This early 13 block doesn't have the reinforcement like that latter blocks. I guess, perhaps, a scat would be good to pop in as well.
