Spare Tire holder (sold)

Post by Mopar_man » Thu Dec 01, 2022 8:55 pm

This spare tire holder won't fit my 21 inch wood wheels. I think it should be for a 30 inch wood wheel. Looks mint. 80.00 plus the ride and it's yours. First one to post to this thread wins the prize.

Fits 23 inch wheels. Works well with a gooseneck. Looks to be in great shape,

The later "improved" cars aren't really my "thing", although I certainly wouldn't mind having one.
I am pretty sure that is the 30 X 3 1/2 clincher rim carrier for 1926 and 1927 model Ts. They are somewhat rare (a way overused word!). If a 21 inch split rim will not go on it? That is about the only thing it can be.
I don't need it. I don't even need the 21 inch one I have in my parts pile.

People today do not realize how many model Ts for 1926 and 1927 were sold with the old style clincher rims. Personally, I would like to see more of them restored that way!

My 26 Touring has 30" wheels with demountable rims all around. It looks unusual now but very likely is how it was originally.

Thanks for all the input everyone. Now who want's it? It's going to look so nice on the back of your T. If you like I'll put a squirt of MMO on the box!

No one is in the market for hens teeth. Rare & extremely desirable part. I have a similar problem selling a 21" carrier for a 1925.

John,

I sent you an email about your 21" carrier.

Those three holes let it bolt on a 1926-27 wire wheel spare tire holder.

Then it just holds the 1926-27 rim.

Point of rareity is that it is for a 26-7 with 30 X 3.5 " rims. Very few would have had the "earlier" demountable size rims. I would think there were more sold with non demountables as in the non starter, super economy version. (no spare carrier)
