I had wanted a set years ago. Being uncommon to find & expensive when found, I figured I could make a set.
A fellow loaned me one of each part. They are not difficult to make or have made.
The studs were made from long allen bolts. & the nuts from coupling nuts. The stud locks were made from recycled axle shafts.

If I may ask, what is the attraction for them in today's world?

I will confess that like you I wanted a set and finally found the bolts and the nuts, but had to make the keepers. Now that I have them, I rarely use them. With the modern age of cordless impact guns, I can install a set of caps quicker using the gun than I can using the Kwik Bolts.

They are real handy for timesavering mains.

I guess I am naive. In what way? I burnish bearings on the lathe using stock bolts, nuts, and a cordless impact. They are just as fast for me. What am I missing??

Burnishing is different than timesavering. Timesavering involves a lot of cap removal to keep the babbit well lubed. Instead of completely removing the nuts, only a 1/4 turn is needed. Saves some time. I dont use a lathe. I turn the crank with a hand wheel. Your way is easier on the hands.
