Very early Buckeye Jack handle
Harder to find than the early Buckeye Jack handle used on the very early ford cars, is the jack handle itself. We did a one time run of these in ductile iron, this casting will clean up very nicely, and I’ll leave that up to the buyer. Handle itself is also a tire iron. $85 includes shipping to your door. I thought the originals were hollow. I purchased a repro @ Hershey several years ago, it was solid. The repro is painted aluminum, the original(?) is unpainted

Thanks for pics and info, Charles. Another mystery. Shown is my original. It had a solid end but I added a little cone of bondo so it would pull from the sand. Not sure why it would have been hollow originally, couldn’t have been for weight saving, and a cored casting would be a lot more work, and in my opinion would make a weaker casting, especially for jacking up an auto. If it bothers anyone, they are certainly free to drill it out if it matters. I am conversing with another member, and he thinks these buckeye jacks were offered around 1913 ish. I would be interested to know when the very common ford script jack was introduced. I remember the rip van winkle T had an Ashland brand jack under the seat, no ford script.

I think the common Ford script jack with integral handle came along around 1915-17. Ford started supplying a jack in 1913, as well as a top boot.
