What is this headlight rim used on?

I bought this rim at a swap meet for my Model T shortly after getting into the hobby. I thought it was a T headlight rim until noticing differences with a T rim. This one has a 9-1/8" diameter rather than the 9" diameter on a T headlight rim. There are also 4 steel pads on the outside of the rim, equally spaced. Does anyone know what this is used on?

Has Ford script so have to assume it WAS for a T that someone modified.

I think you’re correct. I held the back side up to bright light and it appears there are indications that cuts were made between at one of the outside steel pads. They did a decent job of hiding their modification. Thanks for your response.

Could it be for a military application requiring some kind of blackout shade or wire screen to protect the lens?

There are no clips on the inside of the rim to hold a lens in place.

I passed it around at the T club meeting last night. No guesses as to what its use was. If it had been modified in the past, the rim showed no tool markings on the inside of the rim where it might have been welded and ground down. I’m just curious enough to see what’s under the paint. Thanks for the replies on the headlight rim.
