Wanted: Early Starter Switches

Looking to purchase several "early" foot switches (photo below) that have 2 screws holding the plunger to the base plate for a "rebuilding" project. Will also consider the later type with the "fold-over" tabs IF they've not already been bent over before - quite easy to recognize. Please contact me through the Forum unless you have my email.

Steve, if you are making new copper contact bolts, I could use some here in Australia.

No - haven't got that far into the project yet.

I went through this. I have a 1925 and rebuilt a 2 screw switch as good as new. With the plunger extension on it, it wouldn't come through the floor far enough to do the job! I finally used a old stock late style switch which has been a good one.

The 2 screw switches were first mounted to early electric start closed cars - not positive when Ford changed.

The majority of switches I have come across in Australia are the screw on type. Perhaps this is a Canadian thing. It goes make them easy to work on.

My 1919 centerdoor is supposed to have this type of switch. The base plate of the switch is riveted to the frame. Unfortunately, the contact bolts and all the other parts of the switch are missing.

The Model T Judging Guidelines tell us the 1919 and 1920 starter switches were of this style, having the cable contacts at a 45 deg angle.

I have never seen the bracket riveted on. However, it makes good sense on the 19 to 21 models which still had the forged running board brackets.
With the U channel one piece brackets, they were bolted on, one of the rivets in the top of the frame holding the flat piece on the support being left out to take one of the starter switch mounting bracket bolts.
