I need a 24" diameter clincher tire wheel for my 1925 roadster. I picked up my 1925 roadster back in October and it never had a spare tire. The front and rear wheels have 3 x 3 1/2 tires. The front wheels have wood felloes, and the rear wheels have metal felloes, so either kind would be ok.

Dan, you have mix of wheels. The wood felloe wheels have fixed rims for the tyres. The tyres are mounted directly to the rims on the felloes.

Steel felloe wheels accept a bolt-on rim and tyre assembly.

For a spare on the wood felloe wheels you need just the tyre. For the steel felloe wheels you need a tyre, tube and rim to mount on the wheels.

Time for you to show some pictures of what you have, a 24" wheel would be for a 30"x3 tire & these were not demountable.

The front and back wheels on my 1925 roadster. Both front and rear tires are 30 x 3 1/2.

May have come from the factory that way.

if you had not posted pix, I would have encouraged you to...steel fello clinchers are pretty uncommon and an awful lot of guys have never seen them.

I don't recall exactly when they came out but Jeff may very well be right about them being original to the car. Who knows? A quick MTFCA search shows Dan Treace stating that they were in the parts books around Dec. '20.

Now, what IS unusual is that you have 30x3 1/2 tires on the front. To my knowledge the only vehicles which came that way were Canadien cars and export cars.

and the reason you have no spare is that with clincher wheels, you didn't carry a spare tire...you carried a spare tube

Have you carefully assessed the condition of your wheels? The fronts in particular look a little rough. On the steel wheels it is often the tenon (which you can't see) that is the weak spot. If your wheels need rebuilding you have Calimer's Wheel shop in Waynesboro PA or Stutzman in Baltic OH.

By 1925 most people were running demountables so it is unusual to see such a configuration. With non-demountables, you might carry a spare tube and tire but a tube patch kit might be enough. My 17 originally came with non-demountables but someone in the distant past changed them out, a fact that I am grateful for. I do carry a spare tire mounted on a rim although I've fortunately never had to use it.

Thanks for the "wheel pix", how about some more photos of your car? Does it have a starter? Do you have a driver's door? Is the Windshield Straight up or angled back a small amount? Weather you have a starter or not look at the floor behind the front rearmost floorboard, is there a hole for a starter switch on both sides of the front seat kick panel?

This is a picture of the T just after unloading. From what I could find out it hasn't run since the 60's. The dealer tag on the radiator also.

Looking at your car it looks to be a '24-5. So I have defined that much, I think I would look for a set of demountable wheels, including a 5th rim & a rear rim & tire carrier to match the 30x3 1/2 tires or go to 21" balloon wheels & tires as they became available later in the 25 model year.
