23 touring, want the lower Windshield frame at least, with safety glass at best. Kinda would like a good pass/right stanchion with nice square bolt holes where it mounts to the body

Intend on being in Luray next Friday

Unless you have Canadian or some sort of aftermarket stanchions, there is no insert or rubber seal. The channel that holds the glass fits in there. The lower glass on 1923 to 1925 US was fixed in place and did not open and was held in place by a 1/4 20 screw on each side towards the top.
Adding: Some of the early Chevrolet stanchions look very much like the Ford ones where they mount, they did have a lower glass that opened.

Mark is correct.
You might post a picture of your left stand, so we can see whats going on.
In addition to Marks 2 ideas, I would add possibly off a non T.

Here are what I have. I assumed the insert was to hold the rubber gasket so when it rains it will not come in between the stanchions and the windshield but here come some learning hopefully of not some parts!

Looks like wrong bottom section has been installed. Someone may have used a 1915 to 22/23 bottom section which would be narrower. With channel the bottom glass would be about 10 X 38. The leather pads at top do not belong there, nore do the 4 cones on the bottom glass.

The bottom frame is incorrect. A correct one is wider than the top one for your car. It should fit inside the stanchion. Only the top frame needs rubber to seal it on the sides.

Thanks for the education, Seems I'm going to be looking for a late 23 lower windshield as well as a right stanchion.

The leather is there to give resistance to the upper windshield. Helps keep it in chosen position.

Richard, something is wrong. You may have two upper windshield frames being used there. If so you may only need a lower windshield frame. Your stantions may be ok, just an extra pair of holes drilled in them. That would also explain the leather in the upper frame piviot.

Richard, I posted some 24-5 stanchions on March 23 if you want look back in the classifieds. I'm not sure they are what you need but take a look. I also have a couple top windshield frames and one bottom frame.

Rick, they are what I'm looking for and if I don't see any thing at Luray next Friday I'll get in touch! Thank you. I have not had time to really look hard yet between work, finishing changing a cracked low drum and spring yard/honey do's are taking up to much time!

I have both the top and bottom frames without glass. No stanchions. I sold those already.
