Wanted 1913 Touring top iron
Please help …. I need only the drivers front iron for a 1913 Touring (the one that attaches to the windshield).
Please, please, please … I’m topless without it (and believe me, that’s NOT an image you want to see on tour)

Re: Wanted 1913 Touring top iron
You mean the body iron the socket/bow mounts to? The only connection between the header bow and windshield might be a strap.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Re: Wanted 1913 Touring top iron
Russ, do you mean the stay between the windscreen hinge and the top of the body?

Try John Boorinockis in Auburn, California. He makes identical sockets. If you can find him, he could use the parts off your old one.

Try Mel Draper of Mel's leather and horsehair. He made the tip socket for my '12.

Re: Wanted 1913 Touring top iron
Thank you all for the replies. I misspoke when I said attaching to the windshield, it attaches from the front most iron to the front bow (which attaches to the windshield via a strap). The attached picture is of the passenger side, but am looking for the drivers side (which is not intact). Although I am new to this, searching this forum I have found reference that these "front extension" bars are unique to 1913 because that iron is 26" long and other years are 23" (I have only found one reference to this)

Re: Wanted 1913 Touring top iron
If this is your T, It appears to be a !4. Short doors & W/S folds inward. If 13 is unique for the iron you need, this will matter.

Re: Wanted 1913 Touring top iron
That is the T in question and I “believe” it to be a 1913 based on the serial # and title (we all know how much that means). The forum thread I saw mentioned a difference in length (IE 1915 were shorter). From that post I am unsure if the 26” length mentioned is 1913 or 13&14.

13/14 top sockets are the same. I would think you could get that single socket from John Bornakis.

Re: Wanted 1913 Touring top iron
Thank you for the John Boornakis in Auburn CA recommendations. I have attempted to reach him a couple of times this week based on the number I found on this forum but will continue to try (there is no voicemail on the number I have).

Re: Wanted 1913 Touring top iron
What is the length of the front top socket for the 13/14 t's? I purchased a set of top sockets for my 14 Roadster quite some time ago and the front socket measures 20" long. Thank you Craig

Re: Wanted 1913 Touring top iron
I bought the same top iron from Mel. It was a perfect fit. It's well worth the phone call.

Re: Wanted 1913 Touring top iron
I believe the mam"s name is spelled Boorinakis. I could be wrong, like the other three attempts.
The short doors and the dogleg in the windscreen stays would indicate a 1914 model but that socket is the same as a 1913 anyway. The 1915 onwards socket was shorter because the windscreen was set further back on the new cowl.
Hope this helps.

Re: Wanted 1913 Touring top iron
You should ask for the socket, not top iron. For Model T's, the top irons are what the top mounts to on the body.
