My speedster (Former Oney car) came with a dashboard mounted Waltham 8 Day Clock (Pic attached). I want to detach the mounting device from the firewall but I cannot find any release mechanism. The square mount is attached to the firewall; but how? There are no bolts or screw passing through the firewall. Any ideas. GOLDBARBILL

that is a model 37 two spring 8 day clock (huge watch, really) which often came as a fold out travel clock. When thusly sold, it had either a threaded back or threaded bezel which captured the leatherette fold-out on the case depending on the style of the case. I am going to suggest that you carefully, and without undue force, attempt to unscrew the entire thing from the mount. I am suspicious that someone has screwed the back of this clock to your mount and then rethreaded the whole thing back onto the back - the fact that it is a bit tilted further feeds my suspicion. Looking closer, now, do you have a hole in the side to insert a release key? It appears that you may, on the lower right side of the case. If that is true, then that is the release mechanism, not unscrewing it from the base. One of those two options is going to do it and I think the key is the first place to start.
