There’s quite a difference between a 12-16 oil pan.
I encourage you to read Mark Herdmans 3 separate posts on the changes so you know exactly what to look for

The odds of me finding a late 1911 (aka 1912) oil pan is hens teeth. So, I’m opting to modify a later pan with a teacup weld-on. If, however , someone has one rusting in their barn that they happened to stumble upon, GREAT!

I’ve seen some faked. The 12 pan ears other than having 7 rivets have a different taper than the other 3 rivet ears. The front casting goes completely around the hole in the front as where the later ones only halfway. And of course the deep T cup. Hershey is coming up, I had a friend that went and scored a 12 7 rivet pan that was bolted to a 17 engine block a few years back.

I have a 1914 pan that has been straitened, hot tanked ready for paint. I elected to go with a 26/27 pan and a larger brake drum.
I want $125.00 plus shipping.

I have 3 early pans. I have seen two different 7 rivet types of pans. I have no idea what would be correct for your Dec. 11 car. I hope you can find one locally because shipping would would be very expensive from Oregon. I have both styles of 7 rivet pans. Ted 503-728-3476 No text or Email !

VERY UNCOOL.
Thats shameful for a forum member to do.
BUT, I would put a good deal of blame on the seller.
Seller should have given you first shot. Couldnt wait one day?

Yikes! Michael, don’t loose heart. You’ll probably find one in way better shape and probably for less money.

Yes, and this deal can still be undone and made right by either of two people: the buyer who scalped the poster, or the seller who should have known better
I had the exact same thing happen to me by someone who slithered off the Forum immediately after...and a VERY kind benefactor contacted me privately and offered to arrange for me to buy what I had been looking for originally. I ended up with the tool and a new friend, to boot.
Michael, I hope something similar will happen to you after having been treated to such raw treatment by a couple of very unscrupulous folks

My apologies. I let my frustration get in control of my mouth. I know better and I am wrong.
I have always experienced great luck on this forum. I've met some really awesome people. To them I say, THANK YOU, and
please forgive me. I will do better next time. No excuses...
With Best,
Michael
