This fixture is designed to slide into the rear axle housing when you have a broken axle shaft so the car can be towed. It was designed to be used on small drum axles but since it slides into the axle tube, it can be used on large drum axles as well. A lot more useful than the other style that bolts to the backing plate.
Pretty neat tool, you just slide it in the axle and mount the rear wheel onto the stub shaft. It even has a grease cup for the stub shaft since it turns in the fixture.
A very hard to find item and great to have on tours!
