Might be cheaper in the long run, go to a UPS store, have them package and ship with insurance.

For something like a radiator, I think I'd start by building a wooden crate. You can then use rigid insulating foam that you buy at Home Depot to make a "nest" for the radiator. The pink stuff. Build it up layer by layer in the crate, cutting out for the radiator as you go. Maybe put a layer of soft foam or bubble wrap right around the radiator. I think I'd want at least 2" of the rigid foam on all sides of the radiator.

I've packaged some fairly fragile antique audio equipment like this for shipping (in a box, not a crate) and it worked well.

You could foam it in a box yourself - using a few cans of foam sealant (sprinkles water to activate foam) https://www.youtube.com/shorts/qYD60qB0RNg

Take it to the UPS Store & they will do it.
Regardless of who ships it have it insure for the total cost (radiator & shipping & insurance)

I agree the best way to ship it is to wrap radiator in plastic, put in appropriate sized box, and use expanding foam to seal it tightly into box. Brassworks ships that way.

I took one to the UPS pack N ship store, they packed and sent it to the buyer for $80-$90 bucks. Never heard any complaints…
