Hi Layden,

It is the first time I heard about Ross speedster steering gear. What is the advantage of this kind of steering for a speedster ? Do we need to do some adjustment to fit in a Model T ?
Thx

Ross was ( and descendent companies still are) a quality major manufacturer of steering gears. They used a cam and lever design that gives accurate steering without the slop and front wheel feedback to the steering wheel of the Model T planetary steering gears.
This unit is not originally for a Model T but is readily adapted. Great on a speedster where better quality steering at higher speeds is desired.
Mountings to the frame, adaptation to the drag link and shaft up to the steering wheel would be required. Replacement of the input shaft ball bearing in this box is needed during restoration of the unit. All straight forward simple tasks.
My offered gear could be used either with the stock Model T drag link to the right side of the tie rod ( as in these instruction sheets) or in "fore and aft" acting to the left front spindle by using Model A Ford spindle arms ( a speedster type installation).
