I'm looking for an early starter switch and frame mounted bracket that was riveted to the frame. These were separate parts. They are shown on page 279 (lower corner) of Bruce McCalley's book. I'm also looking for a magneto horn as shown on the same page.

Lastly I need a spare tire carrier for the rear of the car. I'm looking for one in very good condition. Thanks in advance.

I can help with the switch and panel, minus the ammeter. The switch and panel are in very good order. If you have a need for the starter switch it would indicate that your car has a starter and generator. If this is the case, then the correct horn is a battery horn. The magneto horn was used on non starter cars.

Allan, It seems logical that a car with the starter and generator would have a battery horn, Ford did not use battery horns until March of 1922,according to John Regan (PIEWAGON). John did the research, and he was the maker of the reproduction horns when he was the owner of FUNPROJECTS Magneto horns were used before that and were still used on the Model T's and Model TT trucks that did not have the starter and generator system, until the end of Model T production.The first battery horns that Ford used,were supplied by Ames, until Ford could produce them.

Still looking for the frame mounted starter switch bracket, associated switch and Ames magneto horn. I now have the dash mounted ignition/light switch assembly (thanks Allan).

I think the regular Canadian/Australian cast ignition switch handle & panel may be slightly different than the “early” ‘19/‘20 cast switch handle & panel. If you are restoring a car for judging, you may want to research that. I have a couple early switches and more than just the handle is different than later production.

Can you please post a picture of what you need? I'm not going to dig through my stuff to find McCalley's book.

Thank you Jim. At least I got the bit about the non starter cars and trucks still having a magneto horn. Now I have to go looking for a magneto horn for the 1920 buckboard i restored in 1987! I wondered why the 1922 wooden firewalls stiil had the relief and holes for the magneto horn mounting.
